Clearly the RAC database is no use on its own - it needs one or more applications running on it. During our Discovery phase we will specify appropriate sizing for the initial database that we build as part of our install process.
Once we have the database cluster configured and tested we will formally hand over the system. If you have an existing application then you will need to migrate the data onto the new cluster. Most customers use their own staff to perform data migration but i f this is not practical, we can offer customized porting and migration services.
Should you wish, we can also come back in after you have migrated the data and help with any verification or performance tuning you may require.
Development, Test and Pre-Production environments
As part of our hand-over stage we give your DBAs an outline of how to clone the environment to other servers, for example, a test system. Most customers wish to use their own DBAs to perform these tasks in order to build in-house experience, but again we are happy to assist you if required.
